These conceptual plant paintings each have a story, which comes from my subjective perspective.  Colours and forms are somewhat distorted, yet still recognisable as being plant life versus wholly abstract renditions.  PS: Please click inside frames for correct proportions.

Gift from Claire’s Garden (Spring)

2016 Acrylic on Canvas 40 x 50cm

Gift from Claire’s Garden (Spring) is the sequel to Winter.  Our un-still lives in our ever-changing yet ever-constant seasons.

Spring/Sunlight symbolises the renewal and celebration of life.  And in this case the constancy of friendship.  The Spring painting followed as the seasons do after the Winter painting.

Gift from Claire’s Garden (Winter)

2016 Acrylic on Canvas 40 x 50cm

Gift from Claire’s Garden (Winter) is my first painting of un-still life.  Life seen through the lens of our ever-changing yet ever-constant seasons.

This painting is an allegory for grief mellowed by priceless gifts of kindness.
